The Naked And Famous have unveiled the video for their current single, ‘Hearts Like Ours’. Click above to watch the video, which was directed by Campbell Hooper and shot in Los Angeles and New Zealand. The song comes from their second album, ‘In Rolling Waves’, which is set for release on September 16. The New Zealand group, who are now based in Los Angeles, released their debut album, ‘Passive Me, Aggressive You’, in 2010.

The Naked And Famous tour the UK and Ireland this November. They will play live in London, Glasgow, Bristol, Belfast, Manchester, Birmingham, Norwich and Dublin as part of a wider European tour. Starting at the Ritz in Manchester on November 21, the UK leg will conclude in London on December 2.

The Naked and Famous are an alternative rock band from Auckland, New Zealand. They formed in 2008 when Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith recorded EPs This Machine and No Light with engineer Aaron Short, a fellow student at Auckland’s MAINZ music college. The band took their name from a line in the English artist Tricky’s song “Tricky Kid”, “everybody wants to be naked and famous”, that is ambivalent about the notion of celebrity.

The EPs were subsequently released on local independent label Round Trip Mars and Powers and Xayalith began performing live with Ben Knapp and Jordan Clark on bass and drums respectively. Aaron Short became a performing member of the group. Knapp and Clark left the group and Jesse Wood (drums) and David Beadle (bass) joined the band as full-time members in 2009. The five-piece line-up recorded the groups albums Passive Me, Aggressive You (2010) and In Rolling Waves (2013), scheduled for release on 16 September 2013.

The Naked And Famous will play:

Manchester Ritz (November 21)
Birmingham Institute (22)
Norwich UEA (23) Dublin Olympia (25)
Belfast Limelight (26)
Glasgow O2 ABC (27)
Bristol O2 Academy (29)
Oxford O2 Academy (30)
London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (December 2)

Kings of Leon’s new album Mechanical Bull is streaming in its entirety on iTunes, a week before its official September 24th release.

The LP is the band’s first since 2010’s Come Around Sundown and follows the resolution of inter-band tension brought about by singer Caleb Followill walking offstage during a show in Dallas in July 2011 and the subsequent cancellation of the rest of the band’s tour.

When the foursome reconvened for Mechanical Bull they did so in their new studio in their hometown of Nashville, teaming up with longtime producer Angelo Petraglia.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Nathan Followill spoke about the back-to-basics recording process for Mechanical Bull: “In November of last year, we started kicking ideas around in this shitty-ass place we bought that we turned into a studio,” he said, adding it was the first time the band hadn’t written new material while on tour. “This record, we had to go back to the blueprint of what we did on our first album, when we locked ourselves in a house and rolled the dice.”
