ukraine-flag1Numerous reports on systematic destruction of populated areas in the Donbass and Luhansk regions by Ukrainian military have been becoming public domain. The evidence has been plentiful: photos, videos, international observers and journalists’ reports.

Neither the United States nor Europe have paid attention to this information as they considered it to be part of the «Kremlin’s propaganda». Western media outlets have painted the use of internationally banned arms and warfare tactics as legal means of waging war against terror.

Now the OSCE has to recognize the fact that the crimes have been committed by Ukrainian military and National Guard battalions. For instance in the use of non-conventional weapons, the execution of civilians and the torture of prisoners. According to the report by Amnesty International, the servicemen of the Aydar battalion practiced kidnapping and torture of civilians. Some time ago international observers discovered mass graves of tortured people.

Those who live in Donbass have many times reported «mysterious graves» findings. Two movable crematoriums have been bought in Germany to get rid of the bodies. The burnt soldiers were reported to be missing in action. Many corpses have been burnt without registration and leaving any trace whatsoever.

On September 23, 332 Ukrainian military were put into a grave near Dnepropetrovsk without identifying the names of the deceased.  Only 22 names were known. On September 22, in Zaporozhye 55 unrecognized corpses of Ukrainian soldiers were buried. In Dnepropetrovsk 11 more unrecognized servicemen, who had lost their lives in Ilovaisk, were put into grave.

The atrocities committed by Neo-Nazi (Right Sector) militants need to be described more in detail. Alexander from Donetsk has spent a few weeks in prison. He says they beat him up the first two days without asking questions. Then they used force during interrogations passing him from one organization to another. He did not know anything to share and finally ended up in the hands of the Ukraine’s Security Service. «They put a sack on my head and started to beat me with their legs. Still I was happy to be a prisoner of the Security Service because I knew they would not kill me while asking questions».

The OSCE observers discovered the mass grave near the 22-th Kommunarka mine in Lower Jug. Presumably, civilians were shot by the soldiers of the battalion Aydar. The victims were treated inhumanely, many bodies had hands tied behind their back, and they were shot in the back of the head at close range. One body belonged to a pregnant woman, the other female corpse was decapitated. The traces of torture are clearly visible, murder scheme is the same: hands tied behind the back, shot in the head. Self-defense militia forces managed to find four locals and six Ukrainian soldiers buried. Mass graves were found near Telmanovo, Yenakievo, Starobeshevo and many more in other settlements. Some graves were well hidden. In general, the pattern is similar everywhere: signs of decapitated bodies, bullet wounds, severed limbs.

Reports from Ukrainian military hospitals suggest that in some cases human organs were extracted and exported to the United States and Europe to be used for transplant… As Carla del Ponte, former Chief Prosecutor of the United Nations International Criminal Court, remembered in her book The Hunt: Me and the War Criminals, Albanian Kosovars did the same thing.

The evidence is plentiful – Ukraine has become a safe haven for human organs traffickers. Ukrainian doctors say there are foreigners working in the national hospitals and they discuss on the phone which human organs of wounded soldiers could be sold and used for transplant.

Ukrainian hackers broke and circulated the correspondence between the former lawyer of Yulia Timoshenko Sergey Vlasenko and German doctor Olga Weber. The main suppliers of the goods were referred to as the commanders of the National Guard. Allegedly donated organs are taken under the order of Western buyers. It’s not the only instance. In the first days of the Maidan protests the Neo-Nazis from the Svoboda political party headed by Oleh Tyahnybok seized the crematorium at Baykov Cemetery in Kiev. There were some doctors among them Tyahnybok had worked with before they were reported to be involved in human trafficking schemes. After that a number of mysterious disappearances of people occurred in Kiev.

The last prisoners exchanges between Novorossia self-defense units and Ukrainian military revealed the cases of fraud. The military tried to present local peasants as prisoners of war.

It will take time to identify those who were taken prisoner holding weapons in their hands – were they shot, dead as a result of torture or sold for organs? Europe can help by putting an end to the support it provides for military criminals in Kiev and the Neo-Nazi at their service.

MOSCOW, September 26 (RIA Novosti) – There is no legal barrier to more action against the Islamic State (IS) militants in Syria, but this option is not yet at the table , UK Prime Minister David Cameron said on Friday.

“There are many concerns about doing more in Syria, I understand that. I don’t believe there is a legal barrier, because I think the legal advice is clear, were we to act or others to act,” Cameron stressed.

“I am very clear, ISIL needs to be destroyed in Syria as well as Iraq. We support the action that the United States and five Arab states have taken in Syria, I do believe there is a strong case for us to do more in Syria. But I did not want to bring a motion to the House today, which there wasn’t consensus for,” the prime minister added.

According to Cameron, the situation in Syria is more complicated than in Iraq because of the presence of “the brutal dictator [Bashar] Assad. It’s more complicated because of the state of the Civil War.”

LONDON, September 26 (RIA Novosti) – The British parliament voted on Friday in favor of UK airstrikes against ISIL (Islamic State) militants in Iraq as part of the international effort to curb the advance of the fundamentalist group across the Middle East.

A total of 524 lawmakers in the House of Commons voted ‘yes’ while only 43 were against the decision. The motion need at least 481 votes in support to be passed.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron said earlier Friday that the Islamic State group poses a serious threat to the country’s national interests as well as to the global security.

Britain is expected to join the United States, France and some Arab states in launching targeted strikes on the IS positions in Iraq where the radical Islamist group has already seized vast areas proclaiming a caliphate on the territories it controls, which include also parts of Syria.

A decision on UK military action in Syria is still on the table as it has to be requested by the Syrian government and approved by lawmakers in a separate vote, according to Cameron.

The rapid advance of the extremists have prompted the United States to establish a multinational coalition to fight against the IS. The coalition currently numbers some 40 countries.

Washington has already carried out over 200 airstrikes against IS positions in Iraq and Syria. Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have reportedly taken part in the most recent attacks.

Royal Air Force (RAF) Tornado jets positioned in Cyprus are ready to attack the IS targets in Iraq as soon as tonight, the Guardian reported.

According to a recent poll by YouGov, 57 percent of British citizens speak in favor of RAF airstrikes in Iraq.

YouGov also found that 62 percent of British people approve of US airstrikes against militants in Syria, despite the ambiguous legality of such in the absence of a formal request from the Syrian government.

British Churches Note That Military Force Alone Cannot Defeat Islamic State

The leaders of Britain’s Baptist and Methodist Churches have released a joint-statement, asking questions and urging that the UK exhibit caution before joining the US-led bombing campaign against Islamic State positions in Iraq.

MOSCOW, September 25 (RIA Novosti) – The leaders of Britain’s Baptist and Methodist Churches have released a joint-statement, asking questions and urging that the UK exhibit caution before joining the US-led bombing campaign against Islamic State positions in Iraq.

As Britain’s parliament prepares to convene Friday to approve a campaign of airstrikes against the IS insurgency, the religious leaders caution that “there are no easy solutions,” and that “an ideology –even one as dangerous and perverse as that of IS – cannot be defeated by the use of weapons.”

Reverend Lynn Green of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and Reverend Ken Howcroft of the Methodist Conference noted in their joint letter that any military intervention would have to be only “one part of a broad political and economic strategy which must have the support of countries in the region,” and that “there are a number of unanswered questions that must urgently be addressed.”

The church leaders praised Cameron’s meeting, which was aimed at involving Iran in the process of stabilizing Iraq and Syria, and noted that they “would like to see this on a much broader front,” perhaps hinting at the inclusion of the Syrian government in the dialog.

The document also questioned “the level of commitment among countries in the region to take steps to prevent the funding of violent extremism,” possibly hinting at the logistical, financial and military support which has been provided to Syrian jihadis by private individuals in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States.

In this regard, the statement echoes sentiments expressed in a joint statement by members of Britain’s parliament from the Labour and Green parties that the IS “is in part a product of the last disastrous intervention, which helped foster sectarianism and regional division.”

However, while the MPs’ statement argues firmly against “any further military action in Iraq or Syria,” the Church leaders’ statement notes that “military action could help to protect persecuted minorities and prevent IS from expanding.”
The full statement can be found here.

David Cameron and the leaders of Britain’s opposition parties are in apparent agreement on the issue, and bombing by British aircraft could begin as early as this weekend if the proposal is approved in Friday’s vote.

While the US began striking IS targets in Syria, winnng the approval of Syrian President Bashar Assad, Cameron noted that British involvement in Syria would be “a separate discussion and a separate vote.”

Scottish National Party to Oppose UK Military Action Against IS in Iraq: Leader

Shiite tribal fighters raise their weapons and chant slogans against the al-Qaida-inspired Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in the northwest Baghdad’s Shula neighborhood, Iraq, Monday, June 16, 2014.

LONDON, September 27 (RIA Novosti), Mark Hirst – The leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) at Westminster, Angus Robertson, said Friday that his party will not support a British Government motion, authorizing military action in Iraq.

“The motion asks for military action that could last for years. There is no commitment in the motion for post-conflict resolution and for that reason we [the SNP Westminster parliamentary group] will not be able to support the motion and I and my right honorable friends will be voting against the Government this evening,” Robertson told MPs in the Commons.

“What happens after the bombing has started? There is not a single mention in the [Government] motion anywhere about a strategy or plan to win the peace,” the SNP leader stressed.

British MPs are currently debating whether or not the United Kingdom would take part in international airstrikes against the Islamic State (IS) militant group in Iraq, currently conducted by the United States and their allies.

Earlier on Friday, UK Prime Minister David Cameron said that the IS group poses a serious threat to the country’s national interests.

The IS, formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), has been fighting against the Syrian government since 2012. In June 2014, IS militants extended their attacks to northern and western Iraq. The group has seized vast areas in both countries and declared a caliphate on the territories under its control.

China Ready to Invest in Crimean Infrastructure, Hotel Industry

China is ready to invest in Crimean infrastructure, head of the Crimean Chamber of Commerce said

China is ready to invest in Crimean infrastructure, head of the Crimean Chamber of Commerce said.

SIMFEROPOL, September 25 (RIA Novosti) – China is ready to invest in Crimean infrastructure, housing services, gambling and hotel industry, Alexander Basov, head of the Crimean Chamber of Commerce, said Thursday.

“They are interested in infrastructure – roads, utility systems, housing services, they are very interested in MSW [municipal solid waste]. They are very interested in Crimea as a transit corridor for delivery of goods to Europe as the route will be shorter by 2,000 kilometers [1,200 miles] then,” Basov said.

The head of the Crimean Chamber of Commerce expressed his belief that Chinese investors will “enter Crimea as soon as the law on special economic zone is adopted,” which is possible in October.

Chinese companies are also ready to invest in the hotel industry, gambling and agriculture in Crimea, Basov added.

Russia is expected to designate Crimea and Sevastopol as a special economic zone with tax breaks to attract investors. Crimea has already adopted the Russian ruble as an official currency.

In March, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev proposed a sweeping development program to improve the lives of Crimeans, ranging from revamping the region’s healthcare and education system to boosting its ailing economy.

Crimea, previously an autonomous republic within Ukraine, refused to recognize the legitimacy of the government in Kiev which seized power as a result of a coup in February, instead rejoining Russia following a referendum on the issue.

Expert: Islamic State Threat Is An Excuse for Attacking Syria

Expert: Islamic State Threat Is An Excuse for Attacking Syria

20:00 24/09/2014

Another US President has plunged his country deeper into another Middle East military adventure “to take the fight to this terrorist group, for the security of the country and the region and for the entire world”. Worn-out rhetoric aside, what could be the underlying causes for the decision?   Radio VR discusses it with Syrian analyst Taleb Ibrahim and US analyst Paul Craig Roberts.

As the US President Barak Obama is defending his case at the UN General Assembly, there’s a growing understanding that another US President, despite his earlier promises, has plunged his country deeper into the fighting which has spread over the Middle East – with no clear-stated goals, or legal basis.

Meanwhile, reports of civilian casualties have started to stream in. According to Al Jazeera Wednesday reporting, 11 civilians, including four children, have already been killed in ‘high precision’ airstrikes; the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the attacks, carried out by Washington and its Arab allies, killed 31 civilians.

In his interview to the RIA Novosti David Swanson, an American journalist described the US airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Syria as illegal, immoral and counterproductive.

Counterproductive or not, that depends on what goals the US actually pursues. Says Taleb Ibrahim, Syrian political analyst based in Damascus:

“The situation here in Syria differs from place to place. Damascus – the capital – is absolutely safe and the people here are watching what is going on around them. Nearby Damascus the Syrian army is making a very great progress. And I have reliable information that it is a matter of short time, not a very long time, that all the areas around Damascus would be seized by the Syrian army.

So, we are optimistic about the capital. But if we look to the west of the capital of Damascus, Israel is intervening heavily and it is helping the militants. Yesterday they shoot down a Syrian bomber which was bombing the al-Nusra Front. And that gives us very clear evidence that Israel is cooperating with the terrorists on the Syrian territory. So, this event is very-very dangerous.

Another issue, in the middle of Syria everything is okay. Homs is under control, especially the very small provinces, Hama in the middle of Syria. The Syrian army was able to seize very large areas which were under the control of al-Nusra Front. We have some problems in Aleppo and in Idlib, but I’m confident that the Syrian army would be able to establish a complete control. The Syrian coast is under control 100%.

The real problem that we have here in Syria is the American intervention. The American intervention is not for doing good things or helping the Syrian state. We deeply believe that the US is using terrorism as a tool for implementing its foreign policy. So, they created the ISIS. Why are they now fighting the ISIS?

If you go back in history, to the 1950’es, they made a coalition which was named CENTO, to seize the Soviet Union. And at that time their excuse was – we must stop communism and communist expansion. Now, it is the same, but instead of communism and communist expansion they are talking about terrorism.

They want to seize this area to make a new alliance in the ME and their target is to seize Russia, and to put their hands on the treasures here, and to establish a real control over the area. We don’t trust the Americans absolutely. They are deceiving the people. They are lying and lying, and lying.

I think the airstrikes which took place inside Syria,  couldn’t achieve a very important goal. They could kill less than 100 militants. And as I know from my information on the ground, the Syrian army was killing 100 or 200, or, in some instances, 300 militants by the airstrikes every day. So, why the Americans came at this moment?

I think they have their own agenda and they have the information that the Syrian army is now in an offensive position, it is not in a defensive position and it might be able to seize control of the entire country in a short time period of a few months.

So, now they are intervening and they will remove the ISIL, and instead of it they will put another militant group, which is the Syrian Revolutionaries Front led by Jamal Maroof. It is fundamentalist, it is a branch of Al Qaeda, but the Americans want the Syrian wound to be open forever.

I think the real target of the US is to divide Syria. This is a war against Syria as a state, as a country, as a geographical location, as a society. And I’m deeply convinced that they felt a great regret, when they were withdrawing from Iraq without making any real achievement. So, now they are trying to come into the region again through the gate of terrorism, into Syria and Iraq.

They have their own plan to occupy Syria or some parts of Syria. If you look at the eastern provinces in Syria, especially to the east of Euphrates, it is an operational field for the US and its air force. So, it is very difficult for the Syrian Government to send their bomber aircraft etc to that region without the permission of the US. That means a real occupation of the skies. And on the ground they will, as I told you, send a proxy force, which will fight instead of the Americans.

So, this is a devilish plan to divide Syria and to occupy some parts of it. We mustn’t deceive ourselves, we must fight it and we mustn’t surrender to Americans, because we could defeat the Americans in Iraq and we will defeat them now in Syria. But we need a real help form our allies, especially Russia.

The regional governments, which might be or might not be the allies of the US, are also put at risk by this operation, because the ISIS is not going to surrender easily, the fight could spill over to other countries. So, do you think that the neighboring states could realize the threat and come to support Syria?

Taleb Ibrahim: No, if you talk about regional countries, from the Syrian perspective, the Syrian Government has one ally only – Iran and Hezbollah. And on the international scope we have only Russia and China. But the US has many allies, and what is surprising is who brought Bahrain into this coalition? Bahrain is curbing its people. In Bahrain there is a real revolution, where people are protesting in a peaceful way and not using violence.

Another issue is Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait. They are the most important financial resource for ISIL and for Al Qaeda, and all those groups. Who brought them into this coalition?

That indeed means a real plan of the US to wage a new war in the ME, but now they could bring in some allies. Those allies will pay money and will participate in this war against Syria, to make a cover for the US to act inside the Syrian territories.

I think we are now facing a very dark age and we must fight to the end, because the US, Saudi Arabia, Wahhabism, Al Qaeda – all of them are in the same coalition. The real coalition is: Al Qaeda, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and the US. They are on the same front, we mustn’t deceive ourselves.
The US is used to lying. All the history of the US is the history of lies and deception.  They say to you – we are proud that you could deceive the Russians on the ABM treaty. They will say to everybody – we are very proud we could deceive the original people of America.

So, we can’t trust the US and all they are saying is only a propaganda, this is only a cover to occupy the area and to seize it, and to put their hands on the treasures, especially oil and gas”.

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, Assistant US Secretary of the Treasury under President Reagan, currently Chairman of The Institute for Political Economy:

“The military security complex in the US absorbs a trillion dollars annually in their budgets. And this is during a period in which the Americans themselves are doing poorly in terms of their economic situation.

There are still people losing their homes. The number of people dependent on public support system, such as food stamps, is the highest in history. There are no good jobs created. When you are spending a trillion dollars on military security activities and people are not doing well, the problem is that you have to have a reason for those activities. And so, a war is always a reason.

And so, the so-called threat from the ISIS or the ISIL is exaggerated, just as the threat of Saddam Hussein was exaggerated, just as the threat of Gaddafi, just as the threat of Osama Bin Laden, the Taliban, just as the claim of Assad’s use of chemical weapons and reigning nukes. All these are to keep the money flowing into the military security complex.

Large amounts of this money are recycled in donations for political campaigns to Republicans, to Democrats, to the House, to the Senate, to presidential candidates. And so, that recycling of the military security money, or at least part of them, is important to the political parties. So, that is one of the reasons.

Another reason is that the ISIS is seen as a threat to the American puppet states in the ME. They are seen as a threat to the oil Emirates, to Bahrain, to Saudi Arabia itself. And so, Washington wants to contain that threat.

It is also an excuse for attacking Syria and Washington has not yet given up its idea of overthrowing Assad. It’s now found a new way to do it. It can attack Syria under the pretext of fighting the ISIS. But, of course, the ISIS was created by Washington and sent to Syria to overthrow Assad. The same forces were used by Washington in Libya against Gaddafi.

So, in a sense, this ISIS threat was a creation of Washington. Where Washington stands exactly in its relation with the ISIS at the present time? I don’t know. I don’t know whether it realizes that it’s created something it can’t control, or whether it sees the confusion and chaos, and fighting as beneficial for Washington’s purposes. I don’t know the answer to that”.
