Star Baby – The Killing Floor

About this video:

Creating a music video should be about creating art. “Star Baby”, directed by filmmaker Joel Schumacher (Batman Forever, Phantom of the Opera, A Time to Kill, Flatliners, Falling Down, and St. Elmo’s Fire, as well as the music video for INXS’s “Devil Inside”) is off The Killing Floor’s debut self-titled album. First off, the song is great, and the emotion comes through easily in this tale of love, jealousy, infidelity, heartbreak and the all too quickly forgotten memories. But what really makes ‘Star Baby’ a good music video is that it compliments the art to which it is expanding from audio to video. Second is theme. There are many music videos that are visually stunning, however, a few are impressive instead through the conceptual elements of plot and story. This is a great music video, right up through the explosive ending.

THE KILLING FLOOR (TKF) – European Tour 2013 Dates

Anglo/US alternative rockers THE KILLING FLOOR will be hitting the stage at this year’s Download Festival at Donington Park on Saturday June 15th on the Jagermeister stage at 1pm.

The band will be performing alongside a host of other awesome bands including Iron Maiden, Queens Of The Stone Age, Alice In Chains, The Hives and Motorhead to name just a few. It’s also the first stop on the band’s forthcoming European tour and the guys couldn’t be more excited about such a huge show. Lead guitarist Mark Alberici told Uber Rock “It’s an absolute dream come true to be playing on the same day as bands like QOTSA, and Iron Maiden. Not only do we get to do what we love, but afterwards we get to watch some of our favourite bands rock out. We’ve been looking forward to getting back to the UK and playing for our fans, and I can’t think of a better way to do it than at Download.”

The Killing Floor will also be playing in London on the 22nd of June at The Water Rats, before travelling to play in Brighton on the 23rd at The Prince Albert before then leaving the UK mainland to play shows in Guernsey and Portugal.

Anglo-American Indie Rock Band The Killing Floor

About The Killing Floor

Brooklyn / London, UK, NY, US Rock,

The Killing Floor Photo Hailing from both sides of the Atlantic, Anglo-American rock quartet The Killing Floor has already drawn comparisons from the press to Foo Fighters, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age, Led Zeppelin, and Guns n’ Roses. The band, which consists of brothers Mark and Oliver Alberici from London and Marco Argiro and Chris Bunatta of NYC, came together in 2009 after meeting at Jimi Hendrix’s legendary Electric Lady Studios. The band has toured the East Coast of America and also completed very successful UK tours, including a tour with Jesse Malin, playing to sold-out crowds and gaining early support from the BBC and other various UK radio stations.

After recording their debut album in 2011, The Killing Floor secured Hollywood legend Joel Schumacher to direct the music video for their rock anthem “Star Baby.” The video was released on June 12, 2012. Schumacher has directed many well-known films, such as The Lost Boys, Batman Forever, Phantom of the Opera, A Time to Kill, Flatliners, Falling Down, and St. Elmo’s Fire, as well as the music videos for INXS’s “Devil Inside,” Bush’s “Letting the Cables Sleep,” and Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose.”

The Killing Floor combines the best of British and American rock to form a truly unique sound that’s both powerful and impassioned. Displaying tight musicianship and strong songwriting, TKF mixes the best of hard rock with the melodic flow of indie and alternative rock.

The Killing Floor: Mark Alberici, Oliver Alberici, Marco Argiro, Chris Bunatta

Where: London / New York City

When: Fontanas, NYC (gigs held monthly)

Why: For fifty years, the UK and US have led the rest of the planet by the hand through that greatest of musical and cultural revolutions we all lovingly know as Rock n’ Roll. So it’s probably not the worst idea to bring those two worlds together in a head-on collision of British melody and American grit – which is exactly what The Killing Floor have done.

London brothers Mark and Oliver Alberici, together with Marco Argiro and Chris Bunatta of New York City, have laid down their compelling fusion sound in the famous Electric Lady Studios, resulting in the 2011 self-titled debut album which showcases a cross-Atlantic formula that makes them the perfect choice as the latest headliners of Live4ever’s Presents series of gigs held monthly at Fontanas, NYC.
