UK singer Adam Bainbridge, aka Kindness, returns today with a video for his Robyn collaboration, “Who Do You Love?”. Directed by Daniel Brereton, it features portraits of both singers’ family and friends. Additionally, Kindness has announced the first batch of 2015 tour dates in support of his recently released sophomore album, Otherness. The itinerary includes a few dates in February, but really picks up in March, with additional shows still to be announced. Watch the video and see the current tour schedule below.

Cold War Kids announce new album, Hold My Home, stream “First”

coldwarhomelp

Cold War Kids have announced details of their fifth studio album, Hold My Home, which will arrive October 21st via Downtown Records. It serves as the follow-up to 2013’s Dear Miss Lonelyhearts.

The 11-track album was produced by guitarist Dan Gallucci and frequent collaborator Lars Stalfors (Mars Volta, Matt and Kim) at the band’s personal studio in San Jose, California.

Already we’ve heard the stirring lead single, “All This Could Be Yours”. Now, to coincide with today’s announcement, the band has shared “First”. The track is grand and regaling, a sonically uplifting mix of jittery guitars, handclap rhythms, and dynamic vocal harmonies. Again, Cold War Kids aren’t exactly reinventing the wheel, but rather emphasizing their core strengths of solid, enjoyable guitar rock.

Listen in below:

Hold My Home Tracklist:
01. All This Could Be Yours

The band has also shared the music video for “All This Could Be Yours”, a black-and-white clip of one woman’s journey around a big city. Watch it below.

Watch: Zola Jesus’ video for “Dangerous Days”

zolajeuss_dangerousvid01

Nika Roza Danilova, aka Zola Jesus, has shared the video for “Dangerous Days”, the lead single to her fifth studio album, Taiga. Director Tim Saccenti places Danilova amidst a number of visually-stunning landscapes, from the darkened corners of a lush forest valley to the glitchy innards of a 3D computer world. If you like your performance art videos with a generous helping of metaphysical pondering, then this is for you.

According to a press release, “The song is a pure emotional plea, a future primitive call to arms. To create a moment of light in these dark times was our hope. Eschewing a heavy narrative we let the images of the Earth, filmed in wide screen and mixed with a tense unnatural presence, wash over the viewer while Nika communicates her powerful message.”

Taiga is due out October 7th via Mute Records. In support, Danilova will be on tour in October and November. Consult the full schedule below:

Wampire announces new album, ‘Bazaar’, stream 3 tracks

wampire_bazaar

Despite their insanely silly band name, Portland’s Wampire managed to sink their teeth into many a people’s hearts last year (including ours). That was thanks in part to their debut album, Curiosity, which saw the duo of Rocky Tinder and Eric Phipps deftly blend playful psychedelia with bits of ’70s rock and synth-pop for a joyful yet nuanced sound. They parlayed the album into tours with Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Smith Westerns, plus a bevy of festival dates the world over.

Now, Tinder and Phipps are looking toward the future, recruiting a full band for the release of Wampire’s sophomore album, Bazaar, due out October 7th via Polyvinyl. For the nine-track effort, Wampire once again tapped UMO’s Jacob Portrait to serve as producer, spending time recently at The Museum studio in Brooklyn. In a press release, Phipps called his state of mind during the album’s recording sessions as that of a “Kafka-esque insomniac musical novelist”.”
