‘Ya Hey’ latest video from New York band’s new album ‘Modern Vampires Of The City’

A lyric video for their new song Ya Hey has been posted by the band Vampire Weekend today – watch the video above now.

The video shows lyrics across the screen with people in the background spraying bottles of champagne behind them. The video was directed by Greg Brunkalla.

Frontman Ezra Koenig sings:

“America don’t love you / So I could never love you / In spite of everything,” “I can’t help but feel that I made some mistake,” sings Koenig. “But I let it go.”

“Vampire Weekend’s frontman Ezra Koenig recently opened up about considering quitting music. The band’s third album ‘Modern Vampires Of The City’ is due for release on May 13 via XL but the singer has said he contemplated getting a proper job before work on the record commenced,” NME said today.

“I still loved music but I had this weird feeling,” he told NME. “I met a lot of people who worked in movies and TV and I thought, ‘Well, if I just started out as a writer’s assistant, I could start a new job at the very bottom’.” He added: “But when I say I daydream about going to law school or becoming a freedom fighter instead, it’s not because I’m brave or restless.”

Vampire Weekend released two new songs ‘Everlasting Arms’ and ‘Obvious Bicycle’ during a gig in New York on April 30th.
